A little horn tooting... [Feb. 25th, 2005|08:14 am]
National League East

The community's a bit dead these days, so I just thought I'd let people know about the Washington Nationals blog I've started. It can be found for the time being at http://ex-spos.blogspot.com/ - and I wouldn't mind some partners, if anyone else is interested in writing about the Nats.

Alright, who else thinks the new Nationals logo was a 5-minute Photoshop job with the All-Star Game graphics?

Castilla, Guzman, and Guillen [Nov. 20th, 2004|07:06 pm]

I gotta say, the Expos/Nationals have signed some impressive players in Vinny Castilla, Christian Guzman, and Jose Guillen. I'm almost thankful they're doing something, that way there's some baseball news as little is going on right this second (though things are starting to happen and they will happen very soon). My question is, what do Expos fans think of this? I also was wondering, if any Expos fans from Montreal are in this community, will you cheer for the Nationals or not?

A Little Help Here? [Nov. 19th, 2004|03:17 pm]
National League East

I'm starting a project on which I'll definitely elaborate more in the next few weeks. Until then, though, I could use a bit of help from this community. If you have the time, please give me a hand and answer these questions with as much length or brevity as you like:

1) What is your favorite site for baseball news that isn't a forum or bulletin board (no SoSH)?
2) What do you like most about it?
3) When you want to read someone else's statistical and/or sabermetric analysis (as opposed to doing your own), where do you like to get it from, and why?
4) Is commentary or straight-up analysis more important to you?

Any help you can give would be great. It should be pretty obvious in general what I'm putting together. :)

Ex Spos Community [Oct. 3rd, 2004|09:54 am]

I don't like doing shameless promo, especially on my first post in this community, but what the heck...

The community spos_fans is for anyone and everyone who has followed, cheered for, or been affected by the Montreal Expos. Future Washington Grays/Senators/Capitals/Bullets/Lobbyists/Philibusters fans are especially welcome! I'd like to gear discussion towards the team's still-shaky future, but of course reflection is part of the healing process.

Please feel free to post in French.

Go Braves? [Sep. 28th, 2004|09:07 pm]

Well, I meant to post this a bit ago, but hurricanes and such, and I have to say, they talk about people who didn't think the Braves could do it and I certainly was one of them. I thought it was just a streak that would end because "this wasn't the same Braves as years before". Well, it certainly isn't, and in a good way. I'm a huge Marlins fan and hate the Braves when the Marlins play them, but I give these guys credit. During the game the other day, I couldn't believe how Mark Derosa fell and hurt himself like that, I felt so bad for him. That looked quite painful, and to happen right when his team found out they were going to the playoffs.

Even though I am HARDLY a Braves fan and never liked them, I do like this years team :o\. If the Marlins aren't going to be there, I will be rooting for the Braves now in the postseason. This team is different from the others which hopefully will bring them better postseason luck this year. Hey, I doubted them and they proved me wrong, I HAVE to cheer for them. So for the postseason I'm rooting for the Braves (sorry, will end after this years postseason). I hope they represent the NL East well :o)

It's been a while since there's been a post in here, not that this post means anything, just thought I'd post something. Anybody alive?

If the Expos win, and nobody's there to see it, did they still win?

I'm curious as to which NL East team everyone is a fan of. So, comment with what team it is you cheer for that has you in this community. For myself, it's the Florida Marlins :o)
